As the old saying goes, "Third times a charm." This is my third time to start a weight loss blog, but the first time I've ever started one for the right reason. The reason being for me. A friend and I had a blog in 2010 where we logged in our daily menus, successes, failures and motivation. We both lost weight with the blog, but I quit. I'm not a consistent person. I had started a family/working mom/weigh loss blog a couple of years ago... and stopped blogging there too. I always think of other people when writing my posts and that has to stop. This is my place for my thoughts and my successes and failures. I think daily about recording my struggles and successes and know that they will motivate me in the long run. So, that is a little bit about why I started this blog.
Who am I? I'm a wife to a wonderful man, a mommy to a sweet three year old and a new four month old, a believer in Jesus Christ, an Human Resources Professional, cook, reader, laundry doer, daughter, sister, niece and daughter-in-law. I work hard from sun up to sun down. As a working mother, it is very difficult, if not impossible, to get everything done that needs to be done. I'm learning (a little too late) to prioritize what is important to me... and play catch up with all things that are not as important.
I was fairly fit and average size most of my life (but I always thought of myself as fat). With my first pregnancy, I gained the "right weight" and lost all but six pounds of it within six weeks. After about six months, I started binge eating - something that was new to me. (this will be a post in itself). That was in December 2009. Here I set in February of 2013 weighing more than I did when I delivered my son in 2009, with a goal in mind to lose my weight and free myself of something that holds me back on a daily basis. I'm at a much better place in my life now to make the changes that need to be made - for me and my family.
I am looking forward to writing about my journey to find less of Allison in the mirror and more of Allison living life.
